Doing the Impossible
Your team has embarked on the maiden voyage of the "unsinkable" Titanic. You have struck an iceberg and the ship is taking on water. It's up to you to save the ship, the crew and the passengers from an unthinkable fate. Working together against time and the odds, your team must find a way to save the day. This is the ultimate leadership through change, adversity and challenge experience designed to learn to "do the impossible".
It is1912 and your team has embarked on the maiden voyage of the "unsinkable" Titanic from Southampton, England to New York City. More than 2200 passengers and crew join you on this historic adventure on the worlds largest and most luxurious ocean liner. Four days into your journey, Titanic has struck an iceberg and the ship is taking on water. It's up to you and your team to save the ship, the crew and the passengers from an unthinkable fate in the icy north Atlantic waters. In history as we know it, the un-imaginable occurred--Titanic sank.
In your efforts to save the ship and the lives onboard, you will bond and connect in ways not possible in everyday life, you will be pushed to communicate more effectively, and you will learn that every obstacle, no matter how daunting, can be overcome.
Once the event begins, your entire team will be stationed at tables – each sub-team serving as the bridge crew of the ship. You will be given a variety of written materials including ship’s log, crew log, engineering diagrams of Titanic, writing instruments, and more.
Working together through discussions at each table, you will have to:
Assess the situation, clarify your goals, devise your strategy,
and issue the “orders” necessary to implement that strategy and produce results.
As the water level increase and Titanic’s bow begins to submerge in this real time exercise, the “situation” you face is constantly changing and evolving. On occasion, when needed, staff will provide feedback, intervention and/or guidance to ensure the process is highly challenging while remaining fun and exciting.
Ultimately your experience will culminate with a powerful and meaningful debriefing session through which practical and actionable insights will be shared and through which core leadership and teamwork skills will be taught. This segment can be short and light or extended and in depth depending on your time allotment, leadership level chosen and content focus.
Upon completion we will have a final celebration together to remind everyone how truly amazing you are and what you can accomplish when you bring your best selves to any situation.
Working together against time and the odds, your team must find a way to save the day and rewrite history. Welcome to Team Titanic™ - Changing history... Doing the impossible.
